Jobing Description
Part-time Event Assistant/Manger-on-Duty for Special Events. To help with the planning and preparation of weddings, conferences, business meetings, birthday parties, etc.
Responsibilities include:
* Preparation and coordination of standard one page service contract.
* Handling telephone calls to contact person to follow-up and organize details.
* Scheduling staff and coordination as necessary for setup and teardown for the events.
* Welcoming attendees and being a good host by making guests feel welcome.
Must be:
Computer literate and proficient in MS Word and Excel Good planning and hospitality/customer service skills 1-3 years experience in planning, coordinating and setup for special events preferred
Skills / Requirements Must be willing to submit to a background check and a drug screen per our policy.
Approximately 25 hours per week Must be willing to work flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends
High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Position Summary:
To creatively upsell all hotel features and highlights and to ensure that value paid is value received, not only in product, but in service and in ambiance. Essential functions include, but are not limited to: solicitation of direct-selling in the local catering market; providing catering services for social events held; communicating with clients prior to catered events; and to initiate, negotiate, and close contracts for all catered functions.
Requirements:
Ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills both verbal and written, strong organization skills and at least 3 years of previous experience in the local corporate market, Delphi, and wedding planning. Experience in an upscale Hotel/Resort and certification as a wedding planner preferred.
