Please join the Student Event Planners Association in hosting Texas State University’s first bridal show! The event will showcase the premier vendors of the Central Texas region. Festivities include a bridal fashion show, cake dig, music and door prizes.
The Texas Wedding Day event will be held in the LBJ Student Center ballroom at Texas State University in San Marcos. Parking is available in the LBJ parking garage and is free on Sundays.
General admission is $10. Students will receive free entrance with proof of a valid student ID. Tickets may be purchased online or at the door. Vendor booths are available for $85 and include a 6-foot table, tablecloth, two chairs, and a backdrop. Two tables may be purchased for $150. Get Married In Houston and the Westwind Country & Western Dance Club team together to bring Las Vegas style Walk Up Weddings to Houston. A Walk Up Wedding is an alternative for couples who wish to skip the extravagances of an expensive wedding ceremony during these difficult economic times.

Walk Up Weddings will give couples who are considering a simple justice of the peace ceremony more options for about the same price. Couples can have their ceremony without an appointment, outside of their normal work hours, and with no waiting for an opening in the court’s docket. After their ceremony, couple’s will have access to a full service bar and the Westwind’s “Texas sized” hard wood dance floor for their first dance as a married couple.

Couple’s have the choice between a traditional Christian, civil (non-religious), or Texas theme wedding ceremony. Yeehaw! Walk Up Weddings are available Monday through Thursday from 4:00 PM until 1:00 AM.

This all kicks off Tuesday, November 24, 2009 with Robert Lewis and Kelly Queenan’s wedding ceremony at 9:00 PM. They have selected a traditional Christian ceremony and are scheduled to leave on their honeymoon the next morning to an undisclosed destination.

Minister Paul House of Get Married In Houston says, “This is a great alternative for couples planning on a simple wedding ceremony at the Justice of the Peace for about the same price, with a much less sterile atmosphere than the courthouse”.

Couples just need to bring their marriage license issued from any Texas county, photo identification, and their $50 cash payment to get married immediately.

Unlike Nevada marriage licenses, Texas marriage licenses have a 72 hour waiting period except for active military personal that can get a waiver for the waiting period. Houston offers many attractions which makes it a great place for destination weddings.

About The Westwind Club – The Westwind Club is located in Northwest Houston at 5905 Guhn Road. They are open 7 days a week featuring Top 40 Country and Western music along with Top 40 hits from other genre as well, for dancing on their “Texas sized” hard wood dance floor. Located in the City of Houston, it is a non-smoking facility indoors and has a bar on the outdoor patio where smoking is allowed. The music never stops and they have a live DJ Wednesday through Sunday where patrons can request their favorite music selections.
